Two day retreats exploring the dance of movement and stillness - each practice is a meditation and we’ll be growing our receptivity to listen, to shape and to be with unfolding experience - present in our breathing bodies and with a kind heart.
Each day will include time in movement plus short guided meditations and time moving between dance and meditation. You are welcome to attend one or both days. The location is a rural retreat centre outside Callander, surrounded by hills and woodland and close to Loch Venachar.
These retreats are open to people aged 18+. Beginners or experienced dancers and/or meditators welcome. I recommend that you’ve been to at least one conscious dance class before (e.g. Open Floor, 5Rhythmns, Movement Medicine).
No meditation experience is necessary, full guidance will be given. If you have any questions get in touch.
We will explore the breathing body in movement and meditation. Every cell in our body breathes and releases oxygen, nourishing and giving life to all we do and are. Together we’ll slow down, notice, and wonder at the subtleties, sensations and dance of our breathing bodies.
This retreat will explore the quality of kindness - of warmth and friendliness to yourself and others - in your body and in your dance. We’ll take a traditional meditation practice - the metta bhavana or loving kindness practice - into movement and you’ll learn to deeply resource yourself through meditation and movement to embody and cultivate kindness in your life.
