Safer Space Statement

It’s important to me that the dance spaces I hold are welcoming and safe enough for everyone who comes. I’ve created     this statement to be clear about what I offer and what I ask of people dancing in my classes, workshops and retreats.

Beyond Polarities, 8 March 2025, Glasgow

In this experiential workshop with my teacher Deborah Lewin, we will explore the concept of polarities—the opposing forces that shape our lives—and how we can transcend (integrate) them through embodied movement.

Participants will learn to recognise how these dualities (such as mind/body, action/rest, masculine/feminine energies) manifest in the body and affect their physical and emotional well-being. Through a combination of mindful movement, breathwork, and reflective practices, this workshop offers a pathway to finding balance, integration, and flow beyond the limitations of either/or thinking.

Date: Saturday 8 March

Time: 10.30am - 5.30pm

Venue: Fairfield Hall, Pearce Institute, Glasgow G51 3UU

Cost: Early bird price £65, until 26 January. £90 from 27 January. £30 deposit secures your place. Two subsidised places available, contact me to apply.

Retreats at Dhanakosa

Dances of the Heart, 13-20 June 2025

This retreat takes an embodied approach to the traditional Buddhist practice of the Brahma Viharas – the cultivation of loving kindness, compassion, joyful resonance and equanimity. The invitation is to step into this mandala of the heart - to meet and know these qualities in our bodies and in our dance. We’ll be learning how we can deeply resource ourselves through meditation and movement to embody and cultivate these qualities in our lives. A Going Deeper retreat, suitable for people who have been on retreat before and have a regular meditation practice. Book here.

Wild swimming, embodied movement and meditation, 11-18 July 2025

This retreat will take a playful approach to reconnecting with the body through the elemental experience of water and weaving the resources of the Open Floor curriculum through meditation and movement. An introductory retreat, open to everyone. Book here.

Autumn rain on still waters: contemplating the five skandhas, 3-10 October 2025

The five skandhas are a description of human experience often evoked in both early and later Buddhism to point to the nature of reality through reflection. This retreat takes an integrated and holistic approach to this traditional model, through meditation, nature awareness practice and movement, exploring the nature of our bodies, minds and hearts. This is a Triratna regulars retreat, for people currently practicing within the Triratna Buddhist Community. Book here.

For more Dhanakosa retreats see the full calendar here.
